It is so crazy to me that these are pictures of the same area where we played just four days earlier.

At first I was going to label this post as 'Loyalty', but then I realized that anyone reading would expect to see a picture of Bunny.
These are pictures of Butler following Ross over to the church.

I know he went in this door.

Maybe he's coming out of another door.

Going to look.

If you throw something out beside the road near our home, Butler will bring it to our doorstep. He usually keeps a random beer can in the yard. He recently drug up the carcass of an unfortunate armadilla. And then just this week he brought this nasty thing to our doorstep. We think it was a cat. Obviously one that was very scared when it took it's final breath. EK called it 'dat durdy cat.'

We have been told that when your dog likes where he lives he will bring you 'presents'. Judging by the gifts that Butler has bestowed upon us, he obviously loves his home.

The things she says...

The other night I was reading EK a story from her bible story book. It had a picture of Paul standing on a rock and telling the people around him about Jesus.

Me: "You can tell people about Jesus."
EK: (while pointing to the picture) "I can go see them? I gone give Paul a high five."

Another time when we were talking about God...
EK: "I want to go see Him."
Me: "What would you say to Him?"
EK: "I say Boo God!"

EK loves to take messages back and forth between me and Ross. We usually say things like 'tell Daddy I love him' or 'tell Mommy she's pretty'. She calls these messages "the magic word". The other night I was at home by myself with the kids. Emmett was asleep and EK was laying on my bed with me...

EK: "Tell me the magic word, Mommy."
Me: "What do you mean?"
EK: "Say, 'you hot Daddy'."
She then started laughing, sat up, looked toward the bedroom door and said, "You hear dat, Woss?!"

Daddy/Daughter Date

This is an overdue post. EK and her Daddy went on this date about a week before we ever left on our trip. They took in an Auburn basketball game. EK was so excited and kept talking about seeing Aubie. If you remember, she does love him...from afar. However, when she's face to face with him she gets very scared. You will note that she did get her picture with him this time. Of course, she had her Daddy their to hold onto. They had a great time and she was sure to tell me that the band was "woud".



Little Man didn't go. He stayed with Mommy. He did get decked out in his Auburn gear for a picture with Daddy.

She is so brave. Do notice the death grip that she has on Ross. He said that as they walked away EK said,"Bye Aubie" thru her tears. Then when they got back to their seats she told the kid next to her, "I got my pichure wiv Aubie."

This is EK's first official picture with Aubie. It was taken in December of '07. Different time. Same reaction.

This is also Emmett's first picture with Aubie...we just didn't know it at the time.

Bahamas 2009

Let me just say that we had a phenomenal trip. It was wonderful to get away for a few days with my sweet hubby. Thanks to all of our family who helped with our kids while we were away. As not to lose any readers, I have kept the swimsuit shots to a minimum which wasn't easy to do since we were in such a tropical location. Also note that this is the "2009" trip. I'm all for this being the beginning of a tradition in our family.

Let me end by saying that my husband rocks for setting up this wonderful (royal) anniversary trip. We had such a great time. However, as always we were ready to see our little ones. We are truly blessed to be able to return to our own little paradise in south Alabama.

I'm updating from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. In about two hours we will be in the bahamas!

Amen and Amen

We had such a wonderful worship service yesterday morning. I wanted to share a quote from A.W. Tozer that Ross used in his sermon:

"That evangelism which draws friendly parallels between the ways of God and the ways of men is false to the Bible and cruel to the souls of its hearers. The faith of Christ does not parallel the world; it intersects it. In coming to Christ we do not bring our old life to a higher plane; we leave it at the cross...We, who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, or the world of sports, or modern entertainment. We are not diplomats, but prophets; and our message is not a compromise, but an ultimatum."

He then ended with this beautiful poem that he wrote himself. Oh how I love this man.

Bonfire

We recently had a very sweet couple join the church. They were nice enough to let us bring our youth/college & career group over to their house for a bonfire last night. We had a great time making smores. The weather was perfect for a big ole fire.

Emmett is 5 months old now. He is rolling over all by himself. Ellie Kate is quick to congratulate him. Little Man is an absolute doll baby and as EK would say, "I gone eat him all up."

The doctor is in...

During Emmett's last doctor's visit, I asked Ellie Kate if she was going to be my big helper. She said, "No. I you wittle doctor." And so she now has her own doctor's kit.

This is her forever patient....the unsuspecting little brother.

Little Man wasn't scared. His eyes are always that big.

At least Dr. EK gave her a clean bill of health.

To say that Emmett enjoys his bath would be an understatement. He obviously feels refreshed afterwards.
